We work hard to look beyond the boundaries of the parish and we and St Mary's, West Twyford (our sister church) give support to many organisations both national and international. We have donated to the charities listed below and where possible we have included a link to their own site.

SUPPORTING MISSION
Here we profile one or more of the agencies the Parish supports through its financial giving.
Christian Solidarity Worldwide
Christian Solidarity Worldwide is a human rights organisation which specialises in religious freedom, works on behalf of those persecuted for their Christian beliefs and promotes religious liberty for all. As an advocacy organisation, CSW aims to influence governments and other bodies on religious freedom issues to ensure that the voice of the persecuted is heard in the international arena. Through its various resources, events and initiatives, CSW also aims to mobilise the general public to pray, protest and provide on behalf of persecuted Christians. By doing so, CSW and its supporters stand in the gap to provide solidarity and support to those in need. Their advocates work in Communist Asia, South and Southeast Asia, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America, Sub Saharan Africa and the Middle East & North Africa – making sure the voice of justice is heard on a global scale.
Recently CSW has been particularly active in campaigning for greater freedom in Burma and speaking up for persecuted Christians in Orissa, India.
Currently they are calling for a UN Commission of Inquiry into crimes against humanity
in Burma. The fruit of a long-
CLAAS – Centre for Legal Aid, Assistance, and Settlement
CLAAS is a local interdenominational organisation, based in Southall, working for Christians in Pakistan who are being persecuted because of their faith. Pakistan is an Islamic country where Christians are a minority and face religious, social, constitutional, economic and educational discrimination. Religious persecution and sectarian violence is on the increase, and Christians are the main target. The country's draconian blasphemy law (which can carry the death penalty) and other discriminatory laws are being used to intimidate, harass and persecute Christians.
CLAAS works for religious freedom, to stop persecution of Christians in Pakistan because of blasphemy and other discriminatory laws, raise awareness, disseminate information and highlight the plight of Christians on an international level. CLAAS also raises its voice to promote and protect human rights through advocacy and campaigns. CLAAS provides free legal aid to victims of religious intolerance in Pakistan, well as shelter and financial support for the victims and their families.
They encourage us to pray this prayer:
Dear Lord, we come before your throne of grace with broken hearts for our brothers and sisters who are being persecuted Pakistan for being your followers. We pray for peace and comfort to those families who are affected by the recent atrocities against Christians. Please give wisdom to the leaders in Pakistan and help those who are providing practical and other support. We pray this in your name. Amen
This year the Ascension has allocated £2,478 (5% of our income from giving) to support other agencies. We are giving £200 to Christian Solidarity Worldwide and £100 to CLAAS.
