The first Wesleyan Methodist Church in Haywards Heath was built at a cost of £2500(!). The Dedication Service was held on Wednesday 1st August 1900 conducted by Rev Walford Green. Rev Stephen J. Sullings was the first Minister of the new Church. The rural aspect which is shown on this original lithograph has changed dramatically, Perrymount Road now containing a mixture of apartment blocks and office buildings. Few, if any trees remain except at the nearby Clare Meadow.
