Insurance companies often insist that a stained glass unit is backed
either by a sheet of toughened safety glass or by a double glazed unit.
The '3' shown on the 'choosing your design' page is in a front door
and backed by a 6mm sheet of safety glass. On this occasion I have fitted
the stained glass panel on the outside.
The round window shown on the home page was fitted against an existing
double glazed unit. This window is in a second floor hall and the stained
glass panel has been fitted on the inside. People walking past on the
inside, who often stop and touch the window, are unaware of the double
glazing. Looking up from the outside the window appears to be just
a stained glass window.

Special clips are available to hold a stained glass panel against a
double glazed unit without damaging the unit or having to remove it.
