My Preferences
I am a keen amateur photographer, when time and mood allow! I especially enjoy taking landscapes and I have created this site to share with others some of the shots I like best. I can find it frustrating when out in my car often not being able to stop when I have seen an "interesting" scene. I therefore find walking or cycling the ideal way of getting to my viewpoints. Indeed I have become an enthusiastic "born again" cyclist after many years of only using motorised wheels. If you live in the UK and share my interest in bikes you may be interested in my "Cycling Links" section below.

My Equipment
My camera equipment has varied over the years with 35mm and medium format having covered the still side and Super 8 and Hi8 video having been used for movies. My faithful Olympus OM2 kit which served me well for over 20 years has now been pensioned off and, apart from a nostalgic Voigtlander Vito B, I have "gone digital". I switched to the Canon Powershot stable with my first purchase being a G2 and then two years later a Pro1 and I also have a Minolta Scan Dual II to bring my 35mm negatives and transparencies into the digital world. I do my editing in Photoshop Elements and print out my photographs on an Epson 1290 or R1800. I have found the main down side to being able to take full advantage of digital is the multiple thick manuals that have to be read and digested!
