41 entered, 33 flew, which is good for comps nowadays. Most of those who did not turn up were put off by the weather forecasts some of which predicted thunder and monsoon conditions with 10 days rain in one day!
As it happened, we had a light SW / W wind which changed 90degrees to South during the afternoon. There were a few light showers, which held up the comp. for only a few minutes.
We had, I think ideal conditions, there was some lift around, some slots were flown out but half were won with less than 7 minutes. Conditions changed for the 6-man Flyoffs! There was massive lift under dark clouds down wind. Peter, Colin and Kevin Dart found it and their models almost disappeared in the gloom. The strong lift was still there for FO2. This time everyone found it.
The event was won by Colin Paddon who, I think, will get another BARCS 5000 badge for winning all Rounds and the two Flyoffs. Well done Colin.
