Newsletter – Power Section
November
2007
I’d like to welcome new full members Daniel Porter, Justin Marchant
and John Passmore to the Club. In the last newsletter I said that as the
weather was allowing more regular flying improvement could be seen in
learner flyers. This has continued with two members Ian Tozer and Graeme
Eastwood passing their BMFA ‘A’ test. Congratulations to them both. I hope we
may still have more progress before the winter weather finally arrives.
At this time it is still possible to drive two wheel drive cars up to the pit
area but this may change soon. So if you are in any doubt drive down to the
winter parking area as this has now been cleared of the summer growth.
As we come to the end of another flying season I’d like to thank the members
who helped to keep the flying site working, with cutting the grass, helping
with the instruction by either doing the teaching or lining up learners for
instructors by getting engines started and sorting buddy systems. Also with
cutting back nettles and brambles to stop cars getting damaged.
The last show for the south east this year was at The Hop Farm at Paddock
Wood on 15th/16th September with similar planes flying as where at Hastings
show. Though there was an amazing display by a full-size helicopter, which was
something to see.
The Club AGM will be held on Monday, December 3rd 2007 at the Angel Centre,
Tonbridge, starting at 8pm. Any proposals with proposers' and seconders' names
should be sent to Keith soonest. Final Agenda will be circulated in due course.
Please try to come along.
Hope to see you there.
Next newsletter will be January.
