Update/Reminder email from Alastair Ramsay

No: 3/06 26th February 2006

Club Website: - Tonbridge-flyers.co.uk

Since I last wrote to you we have completed two more Winter League Rounds, one for the Electric competition and one for the Thermal.

The 4th Round Electric event was held on 5th February in quite good conditions.  David Taylor won both the 400 Class and the Open Class competitions.  David Ward was 2nd in the 400 Class and I managed 2nd in the Open Class.

The 4th Round of the Thermal event was held on Sunday19th February which was pretty remarkable because it poured with rain for most of the previous day and started raining again just before we finished our final flights.  We were treated to a flying master class by Keith Fisher who flew maximum slot times all morning and also managed 140 landing bonus points out of a maximum 150.  Bob Hope came home in 2nd place.

All the results and updated League tables appear on the Club Website under ‘Competitions’.

By the end of last year we had managed to get 32 members onto this email circulation list.  I am about to revise the list in accordance with Club membership for 2006.  Hopefully, this will enable any new members to join the circulation.  It will also however, mean that anyone who has not re-joined by early March will be deleted.

REMINDERS!

1.                  Sunday March 5th at 10-00am – Electric winter league round 5

2.                  Sunday 19th March at 10-00am – Thermal league Round 5

On a more general note, the dry winter had allowed us to start parking on the grass within the upper field at Leigh Park Farm.  Please be aware that the recent heavy rain has turned this into a mud trap again, so restrict your parking to the hard standing for the time being.

Finally, now that spring is hopefully around the corner, some of you may be planning ahead for summer shows or regional competitions.  The dates for the events we know about have been recorded on the website under ‘Calendar’.

Best wishes,

Alastair
