Hello fellow flyers,

GENERAL NEWS!

Some of you may have noticed that Mr Bastable held his first Open Day at Leigh park Farm on 25th June.  I attended with my grandchildren who found it fascinating and informative.  There were tractor rides, sheep shearing, baby calves and freedom to climb all over the farm machinery.  If any of you have small children/grandchildren, I can recommend it as a good outing (assuming of course that the Open Day is repeated next year).

One or two of our missing members have surfaced since I last wrote to you.  We are also pleased to welcome Robin Stanley as a new member and look forward to seeing him at Leigh Park Farm in the near future

Peter Sainsbury has at long last moved into his new house in Essex and hopes to fly with us again soon.

It was also good to see Allan Young and Dennis Goodland again, even if only as spectators at this juncture.  Allan is returning after a long illness and Dennis is just feeling the warmth on his back once more.

I have been asked to draw your attention to the Bickley Model Flying Club – Scale Day on 6th August.  I believe this covers a wide range of models including Electric.  If interested please contact either John or Gregg Veasey on  01474 852015.

Coming closer to home, can I remind you that Keith Miller would like to hear from you regarding entry for our Tonbridge BARCS Open scheduled for Leigh Park Farm on Sunday 30th July.

Since the last Update Email  we have managed to finally complete the Winter Electric League on 22nd June.  Congratulations to David Taylor for winning the final round and with it the title of over all League winner.  As always, the full results are on the website but, in summary, The 400 Class was won by David Taylor with David Ward in 2nd Place.  The Open Class was again won by David Taylor with myself in 2nd place.

We have also managed to complete two more of our Summer Electric Rounds on 15th and 29th June.  On 15th June I won from Alan Goddard in 2nd place.  On 29th June, David Taylor won with Keith Fisher in 2nd place.

We still need more regular entrants for this Open competition.  The final result will be taken as the best 4 rounds by each entrant.  There are still 5 more rounds scheduled on alternate Thursday evenings commencing at 6-15pm.  So, don’t hesitate, come and give it a try.  Results of the first 4 rounds and the League table are on the website.
