Welcome
to Gordon! This is a part of Aberdeenshire which is steeped in
history, boasts a legion of proud castles, rejoices in splendid scenery
of mountain, farm, cliff and beach, forms part of Scotland's whisky
trail and has eleven hidden gems for the golfer to enjoy and perfect his or
her game.
'Gordon'
is the name we have given an area of unspoilt country situated mostly to
the north of the River Don and all within a 40 minute drive from
Aberdeen Airport. Why Gordon? Because this is the most
predominant clan hereabouts as you will find when you explore some of
the many castles in the area.
Whilst
golfers may wish to intersperse their rounds with visits to the places
of interest already mentioned, there are yet more activities available
locally for the non golfers in your party. There are country towns
and villages to explore; the shops, museums and galleries of the City of
Aberdeen are close by; and there are walking and cycling trails for the
more energetic.
The
eleven hidden gems are well established clubs with courses that vary in
character from hillside to parkland and to links. There is a
choice available to suit all golfers whether low or high handicap.
Log
on to the individual Club Websites from the list and make your choice
for play during your visit. Play all eleven if you wish!
Links
are also provided for you to access information regarding the other
local attractions.
ENJOY
YOUR STAY!
