Chiltern SCC

Chiltern Sea Cadets are based in Chesham. We meet on Mondays and Thursday evenings. Staff and cadets arrive at 19:00, with Colours at 19:30. The Parade Night finishes at 21:30. Please feel free to drop by any time to have a look around; visitors are always welcome.

Chiltern has a Junior Section, for those aged 10-12. The older cadets range from 12-18. If you join as a Junior Sea Cadet, you wear a slightly different uniform and are then enrolled into the Sea Cadets when you turn 12. If you join when you are 12 or over, you serve 6 weeks as a New Entry before being enrolled as a Cadet. Once you are enrolled, you are issued with a best uniform and cap.

In the Summer months, between April and September, we use our Monday nights to go Pulling (rowing) on the River Thames at Cookham. This does mean starting slightly earlier in order to make the activity more productive. We meet outside the unit at 18:45 and all travel to Cookham in the unit minibus.

We take part in many local events, including the Chesham Carnival, annual Trafalgar Day and Rememberance Day Parades. We also provide help at the Chiltern Show and bag pack at Sainsbury's during the busy Christmas and Easter periods.
