Hadleigh Castle Country Park.
From the A13 dual-carriageway in Hadleigh, follow “Country Park” brown signs (NOT to the castle), turning into Chapel Lane (about 400m south-east of the roundabout with the B1014, Benfleet Road and A129). Grid ref TQ799870.
Thorndon North Country Park.
From the M25 or A12: Leave the main road at the M25/A12 roundabout (M25 junction 28). Follow the road signs towards Brentwood (A1023) then follow the brown signs to Thorndon Park North. Drive straight on at the first set of traffic lights. Turn right at the second set of traffic lights into Mascalls Lane. Drive for one mile along Mascalls Lane. Drive straight on at the next set of traffic lights into Eagle Way. After half a mile the entrance gates and lodge to Thorndon Park North are on the right. Grid ref TQ606914.
Bedfords Park, Havering atte Bower, North of Romford
The entrance is off Broxhill Road, Havering-atte-Bower, north of Romford. From Gallows Corner roundabout, A12/A127 junction (about 3 miles west of J29 of M25), turn north (3rd exit) along Straight Road then straight on at the staggered crossroads onto Broxhill Road and towards Havering-atte-Bower, the entrance to the park is on the left after about 1 mile. Other routes: Approach along B175 towards Havering-atte-Bower. Park is signposted from village green, turning where there is a sharp bend in the B175 road. Grid ref. TQ520925.
