It's a true story...

Since 1996 the Keno Kings have been fine-tuning their own uniquely successful Rhythm & Blues recipe.  Swing and Jump (courtesy of Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Little Charlie & The Nightcats), Thames Delta (Dr.Feelgood, The Pirates, Mickey Jupp), Texas Shuffle (T-Bone Walker, Albert Collins, Fabulous Thunderbirds) and an impressive collection of critically acclaimed original songs are all lovingly blended into a spicy R&B gumbo.  The result is authentic, assured and altogether great R&B, played with great dynamics and without the need for excessive volume.  Something for everyone who prefers music played from the heart, and plenty for those who like to dance.

The Keno sound is best described as a fusion of Dr. Feelgood's 'in-yer-face' R&B, and the swing-style of Little Charlie & The Nightcats.

Dave Sparrow on drums, Malcolm Jackson on bass, Mick Alden on harmonica & vocals, and Phil Selby on electric guitar & vocals, are all widely experienced on the busy R&B scenes of East Anglia and the South East.  They have shared the stage with many great names, including Dr.Feelgood, Wilko Johnson, Howling Wilf (not Wolf), The Blues Band, Nine Below Zero, Peter Green and John Mayall.  Numerous successful appearances at international R&B festivals including Colne, Ipswich and Brentwood are continuing.

The first five CDs are now out of print, but the latest studio album "Seven", the fantastic live album "Way Down South", and the 4-song radio broadcast commemorative "The Drivetime Sessions", are all available at KK shows.

The Keno Kings are always looking for new venues and opportunities to perform.  For more information and bookings please e-mail
