Wilsden 3 v Cowling 0    8th February 2004

Sponsors

Only our 2nd win of the season and a great result in cold muddy conditions. The team are now playing with more consistency and their understanding of the game has improved no end.2 great first half goals by Jamie Slack got us on our way both gave the Cowling keeper no chance. In the second half we played down hill but into a strong wind and 5 minutes from time we clinched victory with a fine volley from 10 yards by Harvey Craven. Players on both teams gave their all in what was a good game in the conditions.

  Fundraising Committee Oakworth 5 v Wilsden 0    15th February 2004
A great team performance against one of the better teams in our division. In our previous 2 encounters this season they beat us easily. But on this occasion we managed to play some decent football, especially in the second half when we created a few chances. Our 2 Goalies Harvey first half and Callum second half put in first class performances. Our defence of Dominic, Joseph and Andrew really got stuck in and made some fine tackles. Harvey & Callum swapped positions in midfield at half time and along with Harry closed Oakworth down well. Our attack of Jamie and George had a quiet first half but in the second half they managed to push forward more and had a few chances on goal.
Congratulations to Oakworth who are a more experienced side and showed some fine skills, but we gave them a good game and everyone who watched ,enjoyed it. As one Oakworth supporter said we played our boots off.
Man of the match was a hard one to pick as everyone gave their all but for some fine defensive tackling and clearances it was awarded to Dominic.
