| In the mismatch of the season, Wilsden maintained their commitment and discipline against weak opposition. Between David McCarten (7) opening his account within 10 seconds and James Hall (9) finishing his on the final whistle, there was a succession of well worked goals, but only Danny S and Jack R (1 each) interfered with the forwards' monopoly. Indeed, but for brave 'keeping from the Hotshots 'keeper & some wayward close-range finishing there would have been an even greater goalfest. | |||||||||
| Meanwhile,
Wilsden's defence remained solid, focusing not easy in such a one-sided
game. James Barton was untested in goal, the midfield enjoyed the extra
time and space and supplied the forwards with numerous through balls.
Hotshots' only effective defence, the offside trap, caught us out all too
often; on one occasion, 6 offside at once, but apart from that it was a
great performance.
