The second half was a story of missed chances by Wilsden, the two best falling to George Bairstow, who fired wide. The home side capitalised on Wilsden's tired legs and scored 3 further goals, the last being a deflected clearance.

September 26th: Menston 2 v 4 Wilsden Reds
Fundraising Committee Menston started far the better and only brilliant goalkeeping by Patrick Dixon kept them from scoring early on. several mazy runs by George Bairstow finally resulted in the first score, but after more excellent midfield play by Menston the scores were levelled at 1 - 1 as the first half whistle blew.
Wilsden played up the slope in the second half and this enabled their midfield to see more of the ball. More penetrating right wing runs by George Bairstow were followed by Kian Padden beating several players on the left going into the area and winning a penalty after being fouled in the act of shooting. George Bateman buried the spot kick and Wilsden were now on top. A further strike by Matthew Blackhall saw Menston produce their best move to pull back to 3 - 2, but Wilsden's dominance in the second half was capped off by a further score just before the final whistle.
Man of the Match: George Bairstow
    October 3rd: Oakworth 1 v 3 Wilsden Reds
A slow start once again by Wilsden saw more excellent goalkeeping by Patrick Dixon. Several fine saves and courageous keeping stopped Oakworth from netting early.
Wilsden's defence was still being tested when a strong midfield run by George Bateman saw him score to give Wilsden the lead. Oakworth continued to attack in numbers and were rewarded with a fine strike high into the roof of the net giving Patrick no chance. After the break, a slightly re-shaped Wilsden were more in control. Fine runs by George Bairstow and Matthew Blackhall saw Wilsden miss good chances. After a fine pass from George Bateman, Kian Padden beat two players, came in from the left and fired left-footed into the bottom right hand corner, to give the lead back to Wilsden. More excellent football from Charlie Busby, who had a great second half, coupled with secure defending from Callum Healey, Thomas Williams and Sam Holdsworth saw Wilsden's goal not threatened in this period and with a fine all-round performance by Matthew Blackhall being capped off by another excellent goal.
Man of the Match: Matthew Blackhall
    October 10th: Wilsden Reds 1 v 2 Shipley Lions
Shipley came out of the blocks very quickly and soon imposed their excellent passing and possession game to take the lead before half time. Wilsden only managing to keep the score to a single strike through the excellent goalkeeping of Patrick Dixon.
Shipley continued their dominance and doubled their lead after a period of heavy pressure on Wilsden's goal.
This sparked a revival from the Wilsden team and after a few positional changes they began to have more of the ball. A run down the left by Kian Padden and an effort from George Bairstow was followed by a strong run from midfield by George Bateman who rounded two Shipley players and fired past their keeper to pull a goal back.
The game began to open up now as Wilsden saw a chance of a point and Shipley tried to increase their lead. Patrick once again made some exceptional saves to deny Shipley while long balls from Charlie Busby and Sam Holdsworth saw the two Georges both go close.
Wilsden had more of the ball and looked the more likely to score as Callum Healy and Thomas Williams at the back kept Shipley at bay and the Wilsden midfield supplied.
Wilsden again went close through George Bateman as the whistle blew.
A great game to watch with the result probably a fair reflection on the game.
Man of the Match: Patrick Dixon
    October 17th: Wyke Warriors 2 v 4 Wilsden Reds
From the whistle Wilsden were on the attack and several efforts went close. Great runs by Kian Padden and George Bairstow on the wings produced fine saves from the Wyke keeper and the deadlock was only broken when a diagonal ball from defence by Sam Holdsworth, found George Bateman who beat the last defender for pace and fired high into the net. More brilliant defending by Callum Haley kept the Wyke strike force at bay and saw Wilsden lead at half-time.
The second half had Wilsden once again on the offensive and George Bairstow netted after a neat interchange with Charlie Busby. As is now the norm, Patrick Dixon made some great saves, but had no chance when a Wyke attacker scored with an excellent strike into the top left hand corner of his net.
A quick positional change followed and Wilsden began to dominate the play. With Callum Haley having an excellent game in defence and Charlie Busby playing a holding roll in midfield Wilsden were able to commit more players forward. Mathew Blackhall who had been the link in midfield, now had more space and broke free, beating two or three players before scoring. Good distribution of the ball from Patrick gave Wilsden yet more options and a kick out to George Bairstow saw the best goal of the game. George controlled the ball on his chest flicked it over his marker, made a strong run down the right and fired high across the keeper into the top left corner. A late consolation goal from Wyke ended a good display from Wilsden and a great game to watch for the spectators.
Man of the Match: Callum Haley
    November 14th: Wilsden Reds 4 v 0 Thackley A  Scorers: George Bateman (2), o.g. and Matthew Blackhall
Thackley had several attacks early on but fine defending by Callum Haley and Thomas Williams saw these easily dealt with. As is now the norm, Charlie Busby handled everything that was thrown at the midfield with 110% commitment and successfully worked the ball out wide to Kian Padden on the left and Sam Holdsworth on the right. Two early clearances from Patrick Dixon in goal gave Sam the ball at half way. He progressed up the field and played two excellent defence-splitting passes first to George Bateman and then to Matthew Blackhall to see both beat the Thackley keeper to score.
Two further efforts were cleared off the Thackley line and Kian was unlucky not to meet a cross-field ball from George to score. 2 - 0 to Wilsden at the end of the half.
With the second half underway Thackley were soon under the cosh, this brought out two or three fines saves from their keeper to keep them in the hunt. Kian had several good runs down the left the best seeing him shoot just wide. George was unlucky to see his powerful shot from 18 yards out hit the crossbar and Callum also came close from a set piece corner. Matthew was winning the ball in midfield almost at will and running at the terrified defence. One such run ended in a last ditch clearance this was mis-directed and rocketed into the defender’s own goal. Callum and Thomas at the back had done an excellent job of tidying up the Thackley attacks but had to rely on a fabulous save from Patrick to keep the trios clean sheet. A final goal from George saw the game finish at 4 - 0. A good win for Wilsden, but more importantly, a brilliant all round team performance.
