mp3 Our Wild Mercury Years Our debut long player will be released in July 2005. In the meantime, here is a taster of what to expect. Note, this version is the album version and differs slightly from the "rough" version which appeared last year on the Sounds of Track and Field compilation:- Blue (2.8Mb) Some older stuff... In 2002 we released a compilation called fivefortyfives compilation, which as the title suggests, collected our first five seven inch singles on compact disc (although it was also released on vinyl). A number of tracks from this are available as free downloads on the Track & Field site (you can also buy the cd from their catalogue page). We also have a page on Vitaminic where you can download or listen to Boy, have you got it? .This track was originally released as 7-inch single in 2000 and can also be found on fivefortyfives. Previously unreleased recordings... The following recordings have never been released commercially and are available to download freely and exclusively from this site. First we have Morning comes, which was one of the first songs we ever performed as a band. This version (a studio "rough") was recorded in November 1999, and was originally intended to be a part of a 4-track EP for our second single release. However, whilst recording, we simply ran out of time, and so only 2 tracks were released from this session (Said and done & Chancifer). Morning comes (3.8Mb) Paraguay was recorded in Spring 2002 for a seven inch single that never was (the A side was going to be Tomorrow always comes, which later appeared on the Pow to the people! compilation). Paraguay (2.7 Mb) We also recorded a radio session in November 2002 for the British Councils' syndicated radio programme The Selector - this featured acoustic versions of Get rid of him and No more tears. We've included the DJs' rather cringe-worthy comments for comedy effect:- Get rid of him (acoustic version) (3.6Mb) No more tears (acoustic version) (4.1Mb) Please join our mailing list, if you wish to be kept informed of updates to this page. |
