Kicker
are currently a four-piece London based band, formed in 1998.
In the summer of 1999 we recorded a 2 song demo which caught the attention of the Rough Trade shop who agreed to put it out on their own label - For Us. This became our first single Get Rid of Him / Turning Left, released in October 1999. We also made our live debut around the same time and ended that year with a performance at the Rough Trade Christmas party.
We have received radio airplay for all our single releases so far, mainly through BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, XFM, and numerous other stations across Europe, America & Japan. We also recorded a live session for the British Council in December 2002, which was broadcast in 33 countries across the world.
A compilation CD of our first 5 seven inch singles entitled fivefortyfives was released in September 2002 by The Track and Field Organisation.
Our debut full length album Our Wild Mercury Years will be released in July 2005.
