EMERGENCIES/IMPORTANT/USEFUL INFORMATION

Gloucestershire County Council is responsible for co-ordinating an emergency response service  with the County’s 6 District/Borough Councils & other service organisations.

THE RECESSION:

Gloucestershire County Council has launched a new telephone helpline to support its already successful 'one-stop-shop' recession website.

The website,
www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/recession, signposts people to professional support and has received over 16,000 hits since its launch in December. To support this, the council has set up a telephone helpline, which will be managed by the council's existing customer support officers. The service offers a freephone number - 0800 068 8918 - and a local rate number - 01452 426261, for people calling from mobile phones.

Both of these services will signpost people affected by the recession to the huge amount of support available from voluntary and public sector organisations.
