The Bungalow

Situated close to the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, Kinnaird's three bedrooms sleeps up to four in spacious comfort.  The centrally heated bungalow is situated in a cul-de-sac and set in large mature lawned gardens with herbaceous borders and many unusual plants, shrubs and trees. 

There is off road parking for one vehicle and ample space for many more on Kinnaird's large frontage.  Garden furniture is provided as well as a barbecue.

The owners – Karen and John Barton – live in the next village and so are on hand for any problems or advice.

 

The Lounge

Our Lounge

"Kinnaird" is exceptionally well equipped with everything you’ll need for a relaxing break.The large lounge has a modern 3-piece suite, remote control television with video recorder/player, DVD player hi-fi and CD player.  There is a comprehensive video library, DVD's, CD`s, and cassettes for your entertainment. 
There are games and puzzles suitable for adults and children and a large selection of novels and reference books including tourist information about the area and local places to eat out.

 

Bedrooms

Single BedroomThere are three bedrooms in the property, a double room with double bed, pine furniture and two single rooms, one with pine furniture, the other with mirrored fitted sliding wardrobe. All the comfortable beds are made up for your arrival with co-ordinated linens and duvets. There are spare pillows and blankets provided in each room.  There is also a pine towel rail in each room with fluffy towels. 

 

 

Double Bedroom

The prices quoted are based on two persons using the double bedroom. 

If two beds are used for a two person occupancy then a surcharge is applicable.  For a 2 or 3 bed usage a surcharge is applicable per additional bed (prices available on application).

 

 

 

 

Dining Kitchen

Dining KitchenThe large dining kitchen has recently been fully refurbished to give low level access.  There is a fan oven and separate ceramic hob with illuminated extractor fan above.  There is a microwave oven, toaster and coffee making machine, a fridge and washing machine. there is ample crockery, cutlery and glassware for four occupants.  We have provided stainless steel pans along with casserole dishes and many other kitchen essentials.  The kitchen linens (tea towels, towels, oven glove and tea cosy etc) are also provided.  There is a pine table and four chairs.

The freezer and tumble dryer are located in the adjacent utility room along with the steam iron and ironing board.

Conservatory

Step out of the kitchen and relax in the pleasant conservatory, which enjoys views of the garden and is equipped with a three piece cane suite.

Shower Roomshower room

 

 

The recently refurbished room includes a walk-in electric shower with a grab rail, a hand basin with illuminated mirror and shaving point and a dual flush toilet.  Both large and small towels are provided per person.

Please note there is no bath in the property.

Our Location

The village of Selston is close to the borders of both Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, just 10 minutes drive from the M1 (junction 27).  There is a newsagent and Post Office very close by.  Several local pubs, where meals are served and children are welcome, are within walking distance or a few minutes drive away.  There is an excellent local supermarket and fish and chip shop.

Places to Visit

There’s plenty to do and lots to see in the area.  Selston is just a few minutes from historic  Eastwood, birthplace of D H Lawrence. 

For shoppers, the cities of  Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield are all within easy reach, as is the McArthur Glen Outlet and the lively towns of Chesterfield and Mansfield

If its stately homes you are interested in then you can't miss Chatsworth House Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are also star attractions.

There is a diverse range of golf courses within a 10-mile radius which includes Holinwell and Morley Hayes. 

Anglers can fish on the River Trent (permits required) and cycles are available for hire in Clumber Park.                                                                

There are some excellent garden centres and plant nurseries close by, some with coffee shops!

 The hire charge includes bedroom and kitchen linens.

We offer short breaks of 2-6 nights subject to availability .

A (refundable) damage deposit is also payable in advance with the hire charge

You will be personally met by the owners, Karen and John and a welcome tray awaits all guests on arrival with tea, butter, jam and home made scones or cakes.

We have a strict no smoking policy throughout the whole bungalow  and we do not allow any pets in the property.  We only accept children over the age of five.

A full access statement is available on request as per the new legislation.
