A
number of our members are actively
involved in other voluntary
organisations in and around the town,
thus helping strengthen the link between
church and community.
Services are also conducted at Mackenzie Court
and Morar Court sheltered housing
complexes.
KHR is
a member of Grangemouth Council of
Churches and enjoys a close, friendly
relationship with all the denominations
in the town, working together to spread
the Good News of the Gospel to all in
the area.
The
Council of Churches comprises:
Abbotsgrange, Zetland and Kirk of the Holy Rood
(all Church of Scotland), St. Mary’s
(Episcopal) and Sacred Heart and Christ
the King (Roman Catholic).
The
Council of Churches also introduced the
charity organisation Grangemouth
Enterprises, which gives work to long
term unemployed. Unneeded household
equipment, furniture, etc is refurbished
and then sold on to families starting a
new home after being homeless.
Furniture is also sold through a shop in
Dundas Street.
The
Council of Churches also organises
Community Care – a service for old and
vulnerable people in the town.
