Woolsey Coulter Circuit
Rider Clinic (WCCRC)
The only place in Northern Ireland to receive
tuition from Woolsey Coulter one of the country's most successful
racers
Ex British Champion, 5 times NW200 winner and multiple Irish Champion.
Clinics are limited to 20 riders so ensuring
plenty of track time and the opportunity for one on one tuition.
The day begins with riders bikes being assessed, suspension settings
recorded and adjusted as required and tyre pressures checked.
Riders then attend a class room session were the format of the
day is explained and riders are split into groups depending on
their ability.
Woolsey explains the aspects of his training that riders are to
concentrate on eg. body posture, peel in point and his 'bee in
the bonnet' apexes! The motto of his training is 'go slow to go
fast' which he emphasizes drawing on past experience and visually
with the aid of flip charts and on bike video footage. Once on
track riders are assessed by Woolsey and at least one other ex-racer
(national standard), cones mark peel in points, apexes and exit
points. Riders are videoed to aid in debriefs with a DVD of the
day available at a later date. The day continues with track sessions
followed by 'short' debriefs with question and answer opportunities.
As the day progresses riders have the opportunity to use bike
to bike radio link with Woolsey thus getting immediate advice
whilst on track.
