Hello and welcome to the CJS Racing website. This is the official website of ex Formula Ford 2000 racing driver, John Charles Smith.

John was born in the Midlands area of England on 27th May. At the time the Midlands was a major area for coal pits and mining, and soon John found himself working in a senior position in the local mine.

Following a love of cars John decided to follow his ambition of becoming a racing driver, and in 1981 successfully began driving in Formula Ford 2000. At certain points in John's career it was looking hopeful that he could progress further in motor racing, possibly onto Formula One - John's eventual goal. However, despite the success of breaking into Formula Ford 2000 and competing in many televised races, John soon began to realise what an expensive hobby motor racing is, so unfortuantly, in 1991 John had to give up his career.

To persue his love of cars John decided to set up his own car mechanic business in his home town. He still operates the business to this day, still has a love of cars, and still watches Formula One every race weekend!
