Early Projects

In this section of the site I will provide details and access to many of my very early projects, demonstrating my development as a programmer, and my gradual acquisition of programming skills and increase confidence of application. In the introduction you will find details of my very early work, which originates in my conversion of simple programs already coded in QBASIC into Pascal 6.0, and extends to my initial experimentation with graphical modes, sprites, and precision mouse and keyboard control; as well as more complex game engine structures. All this was finally applied in my first major project rendered in MCGA, the simple game Trooper I, and extended into the more complex Faculty (Short for Losing control of your Faculty, bad pun), which included more complex graphical control as well as mouse and CD interface. My mathematical and logical programming skills were eventually sublimated into the early 3D work, which is also availbale on this site. A more extensive account of the history of my programming career, and the development of these programs can be found in the programming history section, or in the introduction of these pages. I've written a short account of the features of each program, and how it related to my the evolution of my programming skills, and where possible included some screenshots. Trooper I and Faculty are both availbale for download in ZIP format, and I hope to track down the original source for my early 3D work at some later date. I hope you enjoy these pages and don't find them too pretentious or self obsessed, Jon
