I chose Keith-more farm because I live on Keith-more farm! I hope you like it.

THE HISTORY OF TRACTORS



The first tractor was made in 1868. They were powered by steam. No tractors had a fork lifter at the front. Most tractors hade no roof! Small petrol powered tractors were made in 1920s and diesel tractors were beginning to appear in the 1950s.


THE HISTORY OF THE BALER!!



Before the baler was invented they used sieves and made hay STACKS by hand. At night people gave the cows hay from the back of the trailer.


NEW MACHINERY!!


The sprayer can do a lot of land in one day. It can cost up to £1275 to buy. It is a lot for a farm.The more you can do in a day the better.

THE OLD PLOUGH



The plough was built in 1800. A horse pulled it. It had one reel in front. The man was behind holding the handle or andles. Now a lot of ploughs have a lot of reels. Roman ploughs were pulled by cows.

FARM ANIMALS



We have sheep and cows on our farm. We have 125 ewes a female sheep and 21 tups male sheep and 1000Lambs. We have 285 cattle in total. 153 cows 5 bulls which are male 190 calves, 17 heifers (a tip of cow.)You can get cows and sheep at the Huntly mart.

FOOD


Cows eat sugar beat, pellets, corn, grass, hay and straw. Sheep eat barley, sheep pellets, corn, sheep sugar beat and grass, hay and straw.Live on a farm is not at all. You need to feed cows and sheep + at lambing time is the worst. You need to pick tatties as well as neeps.
