The
Parish Plan Steering Group was set up at the end of 2007 by the Parish
Council to research, write and publish a parish plan. Volunteers
were requested at a village meeting and two Parish Councillors joined the
group to act as a communication channel between the parish council and
the group.
At the first meeting, Margaret Meadows was elected as Chairman, Joan Garvey as Secretary and Lawrence Milbourn as Treasurer. The first task was to discover the concerns of the parish. A questionnaire was written and distributed to around 476 homes in the parish. The content of the questionnaire was based on the concerns expressed at the village meeting arranged by the Parish Council. A 52% response was achieved and an analysis was undertaken. A second questionnaire about the future of the village over the next ten years was distributed and following a 50% response, an analysis has been carried out. There was an opportunity to discuss the outcomes of the analysis on Monday 10th November and a fourth Newsletter has been published. At the first AGM, a constitution was adopted and the name of the group was changed to "Lambley Parish Plan Group". The Plan was launched by County Councillor Mark Spencer on 2nd May 2009. At the launch, also attended by Sherwood MP, Paddy Tipping and representatives of local community organisations, parishioners were able to collect their copies of the plan. Every home in the parish should have one. In January 2010, Newsletter 5 was delivered, outlining progress so far and inviting parishioners to the AGM on 27th Feb at 2.30pm in the Village Hall. In November 2010, a Lambley Guide was published and delivered to each household in the parish. |
