My current work predominantly uses projected moving images, and sound-scapes. To produce installations. Sounds.
I have a strong predilection for ambient sound and field recordings. Using various simple programming techniques, my work explores the relationship of chance and order within field recordings. Within these field recordings the mistakes become very interesting, the noises of mistakes, the living ambience around us often becomes the main body of certain pieces. Images.
I use moving images to enhance and complement my work, but more importantly, projected images are often used as a kind of anchor, a focal point for the audience. Sense and sound pieces I have produced do not have any visuals and attached. In these instances I am knowingly reframing the audience from having any visual anchor.
I am very interested in the contrast between installation work that is purely audio, and is installation work using both projected moving images and audio. Often images that I produce seemed to pair up as perfect partners with the soundscapes.
