Gran Canaria
In
the Summers of 1999, 2000 and 2001, I spent two weeks at the exclusively gay
holiday complex, Villas Blancas, in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria.
Each year I booked
with
Throb Holidays, a gay holiday 
company,
specializing in gay holidays to Spain and the islands.
The complex consists of 24 one-bedroom villas set around beautiful gardens and a pool (open 24 hours a day for that midnight, or later, dip after clubbing in Playa del Ingles).
In 2003 a group
of us stayed at the new Villas Blancas complex, Magnolias. This
consists of 28 one-bedroom villas in a similar set up to the original, but
with the advantage of air conditioning.
The
Yumbo Centre is only a 20 minute walk away (up hill all the way!) or just a
5 minute taxi ride (fare about 4 euros).
But enough of the free publicity for the Villas Blancas group!
