UFO PICTURE GALLERY
These photographs first appeared online in our weblog whilst living in Romania. (Jun 2002 to July 2003) The text extract is taken from this weblog. Of all the things we'd been told to expect in Romania this has got to be the most unexpected. People joked about vampires, and beggars, and queues for bread, but nobody mentioned the aliens. At about 1:20am of the morning of July 1st, Lee watched what he thought was a fire burning in the fields opposite our flat. Then, to his surprise, it took off and flew away. Luckily the camera was close by and he got off nine photographs before it vanished from view. He ran and woke up Fong to excitedly show her the pictures in the viewer of the digital camera and take her to see where it had been. Suddenly it came back far in the distance for a few seconds, and this time we both saw it together before it disappeared behind the mountains.  At first Lee was very excited whilst Fong was completely freaked out. Then Fong calmed and became cool about the whole thing and Lee just felt fed-up as this was some mad unsolvable thing that happened and we'll never know the truth about what we saw. At first light we had military helicopters patroling the same area (so perhaps it was a helicopter - but we sicerely doubt it) Other people must have seen it. The field is popular with cows and sunbathers but the next day there were lots of people milling around in the field, mostly in the area Lee had seen it take off from. The photos aren't of great quality as the camera was set up for low-res email images, and Lee had to take the shots on the 'landscape' setting which doesn't use the flash and holds the shutter open for longer. For this reason the images have all of those comets trail streaks from the street lights. Then again, perhaps somebody with a knowledge of optics could use that to determine how big or far away the blob was. The pictures don't really justify how the object looked. It was a squashed sphere and glowing orange with what looked like black bands or clouds crossing in front of it from right to left. Why do UFO's always have such highly visible colours? If I was an alien and wanted to sneak around in a cow field all night I would paint my spaceship black. These must have been boy-racer aliens and the orange glow was their equivalent of go-faster stripes.          And the very next day...
