Stony Stratford is well-known in the surrounding

area for its Christmas lights which brighten the

High Street and other parts of the town each

December. Switch-on day is a major event with

the High Street closed to traffic and a large variety

of stalls and entertainments taking its place.

As switch-on time approaches the town becomes

very crowded with many visitors.
