During the summer months the weir is a popular

location for fishing and paddling. Situated at a

corner of the mill field the existing weir was built in

1952 replacing an earlier wooden construction.

This involved part of the river being re-routed. The
course of the old river is still marked by a few old

willow trees still standing in the mill field.
