LES WALKER
A native of Burnley Lancs., Les Walker spent his formative musical years singing in local bands, playing clubs and dance halls in the North of England.
After moving to London in the late sixties Les worked solidly for several years touring Europe and Scandinavia, building a reputation doing live work, T.V. and radio appearances and making records. During this period Les worked with such notables as Chas ‘N’ Dave, Big Jim Sullivan (guitarist with Tom Jones and James Last), Albert Lee (top Nashville Guitarist,) Ray Flacke (ditto), and Paul Carrack (Ace, Mike and the Mechanics, Squeeze, Roxy Music). Les also found time to appear in a stage musical, ‘ROCK A BYE BECKETT’, with Nicky Moore (EX Hackensack, Samson, Tiger, and current frontman with The Blues Corporation), and before moving back up North in January 1989, Les was working and recording with Juice on the Loose, one of Londons most popular Boogie Bands.
Since then, Les has worked the Northern Club circuit as a solo act, receiving many awards and making many friends along the way.
Les has also been a prolific song writer, both in his own right and in collaboration with many of the above names
T.V. and RADIO
Les Walker has appeared on T.V. and Radio in most European and Scandinavian countries including Granada T.V.’s original New Faces, with one of his first bands and B.B.C. 2’s Old Grey Whistle Test.
