We still have available a few of the delightful prints of 'The Amlwch Tanks', as shown below
"The Amlwch Tanks"
Class 40 No. 40 020 "Franconia" is seen here during shunting operations at the works of The Associated Octel Company Limited at Amlwch on the Isle of Anglesey. The works are located at the end of the seventeen mile long branch line which leaves the Chester-Holyhead main line at Gaerwen.
The line across Anglesey has been used solely for traffic to and from the Associated Octel Works since December 1964 until
cessation of rail traffic in 1994.
Sulphur from Mostyn Docks, carried in open hopper wagons and liquid chlorine in tank wagons were taken to the works and the
production of ethylene dibromide taken away, again in tank wagons. At one time there was sufficient traffic to warrant two
trains per day.
The train was usually worked by locomotives of classes 24, 25, 40 or 47, from Llandudno Junction Shed.
"The Amlwch Tanks" is a full colour print, limited to 750 individually numbered copies. It has been
specially produced for The Dolgarrog Railway Society by Graham Holme and each copy will be signed by the Illustrator.
The print size is approx. 16 ½ x 11 ½ inches, printed on a quality 200 gsm white art paper.
The price is £15 each, inclusive of V.A.T. and postage. Dispatched rolled in a. sturdy postal tube.
