The

DOLGARROG RAILWAY

SOCIETY

The Dolgarrog Railway Society aims to re-establish a small industrial railway line (with a rural flavour), at Dolgarrog, in the beautiful Conwy Valley, in North Wales. It also intends to preserve locomotives and rolling stock appropriate to the line.

The Society, which was originally established some ten years ago, moved to a temporary site at Tal y Cafn and began planning for the establishment of a Heritage Railway Line in the Conwy Valley. Since our inception, we have purchased and restored several items of rolling stock, and a small diesel shunting locomotive, together with various items of railwayana.

Dolgarrog Alumnium Ltd., have kindly given us a lease on the trackbed of the old Dolgarrog Railway, which used to serve the Aluminium Works at Dolgarrog. We are proposing to relay track over much of the old trackbed, and we will be building a depot at the Dolgarrog Works end of the line.

To read more about the history of the Dolgarrog Railway, see the History Page.
