This vehicle, the first of the second order for 32 buses, was hurriedly registered with an out of sequence number so as to appear at the 1965 Commercial Motor Show in Earl's Court.

This was also the first to appear with new style fleetnames in plain upper case letters, a style that was not pursued for long. It was also the first bus to be fitted with the smaller air intake grill below the front blind box, adopted by London Transport.

Eventually delivered for service in November 1965 and allocated to Chester-le-street depot

Repainted into standard NGT livery in 1969

Recertified in May 1971

Repainted into NBC poppy red livery in July 1973

In January 1975 it was renumbered to 3087

Eventually withdawn in September 1977, dismantled for spares and scrapped by NGT
