Goyt Valley & Goyt Moss

© DougBlane.com ____ This scenic drive is easily accessible from Buxton. Take the "Long Hill" road from the centre of the town. Drive past a caravan site on your right and a few farms on your left. When you reach the top of the hill there is a turning on your left signposts towards the Goyt Valley. Take this single track road do towards Errwood Reservoir. Drive over the dam and up a steep hill and turn right. You now drive along the Reservoir, past two parking areas. The road now becomes one-way so you must now continue up the valley towards Derbyshire Bridge (footbridge).

Driving route through the Goyt Valley

There is another parking area near the bridge so you can explore this area on foot if you wish. Finally the road rises out of the valley near a toilet bock. Turn right and a few hundred years later turn left. You wiggle across Goyt Moss and then take a right on the A54 back down the hill towards Buxton. The Goyt Valley can be very popular especially during bank holiday weekends and the warmer summer months.
