Guide to using LMC LIVE

We hope that this web site is easy to navigate. Please contact us with suggestions and comments so that we can incorporate your ideas in the future.

Hot links are available to many documents and references and are indicated when the cursor changes to a "hand" icon.  Just point and click on it to be taken there directly.

To return to the home page click on the home button at the top of the row of buttons on the left of your screen, (or alternatively click on one of the other buttons to open a different page.)

By clicking on the back button on the tool bar you will return to the previous page you viewed on the web.

Any web page can be printed for your own personal use by simply clicking on the print icon.  Pages can also be saved by clicking on File and then Save As.  All of our web pages are protected by copyright and consequently any other reproduction is strictly prohibited except with specific prior permission.

We have taken every care to ensure that the information contained in this web site is accurate and useful for you, but would draw your attention to the legal disclaimer which may be accessed by clicking on the disclaimer button at the bottom of the home page.

The home page contains a New Items button which links to new items.

Click on the Guidance button on the left side of your screenww be taken directly to the Guidance. You will then be taken to an index of different sections, such as Data Protection, Clinical, etc. All you need to do is point and click on the index link to be taken to the section you require, and then go to individual items you wish to view.

Recent additions to the guidance and links are flagged up in purple with the date.

The guidance contains hot links to further information in many cases.

Documents may be difficult to find on the web but the Documents button puts useful documents just a click away. Some are directly accessible but many are stored on the web in pdf format. Use the index links to jump directly to the relevant section. New document links are flagged up in purple with the date.

Wessex LMCs Bulletins are now published on the web. If you click the Bulletins button you will find the current Wessex bulletin and the bulletin archive. Clicking on the bulletin you wish to view will bring up the index. A simple click on the item will take you to the topic.

Links connects you directly to other potentially useful web sites. This has been subdivided into various sections to allow for quick reference.

At the foot of the home page is a link to the Wessex LMCs Site www.wessexlmcs.com which serves the more specific local needs of the Wessex LMC Secretariat and also the individual needs of each LMC.

A "Search" button is to be found at the top of each page. Click on it and type in the topic you wish to find.  This will search both the LMC LIVE site and the Wessex LMCs web site. A list of links will appear for you to select from and link to.

There are a number of hot links on the web site. Most of these point directly to text, but some point to documents stored on the web in pdf or portable document format. To access these you will need a "PDF Reader" which can be obtained FREE from www.adobe.com Click on this link and follow the simple instructions to "download" the reader. Then double-click on the newly downloaded file and follow the installation instructions. It really is very simple.

TIP: For ease in finding downloaded files, such as the PDF Reader, set up a separate downloads folder on your disk and always download to that.

The current bulletin is also available in pdf format. If you click on the pdf link to bring up the bulletin on the screen it can then be printed off in its original format on a colour printer. All future bulletins will be published as indexed text as well as in pdf format.

Why not add LMC LIVE and the Wessex LMCs web site to your "favorites" or "bookmarks" or better still make one of them into your "home page" in which case clicking on the home button on the tool bar will return you to your LMC home page? To do this, if you are using Internet Explorer, go to Tools, then Internet Options, then change the Home page to www.lmclive.oc.uk; if you are using Netscape Navigator, go to Edit, then Preferences and change the Home page here to www.lmclive.co.uk.

Finally if you have any difficulties using this web site please contact us
