Epinal is a vibrant and attractive town
about the same size as Loughborough. It lies in the valley
of the Moselle among the foothills of the Vosges
mountains in northeastern France.
You can find out much more from Epinal's
own website
Twinning started over 50 years ago and our inner ring road
is named in honour of that very long link.
This link was cemented in 2006 by the installation of commemorative
benches in both towns.
Epinal is the capital of the Vosges
departement in the east of France.
The town straddles the Moselle river
beside the Vosges moutainous woodland to the east.
It has all the facilities
of a major tourist centre with none of the disadvantages which tourism
often brings.
