GREY PHALAROPE Phalaropus fulicarius
One was feeding in the bay of Children's Corner at Lowestoft South Beach at dusk on the 11th, it then called and flew, but it was too dark to see how far or where it went. Slightly annoyingly it hadn't been there when I had been counting the Turnstones there half an hour earlier, and whilst it was still light, but luckily it hung around !
On the 12th it spent the morning in the trawler basin, though fog hampered viewing for much of the time. However it spent most of the afternoon on the sea just to the south of the South Pier, frequently flying backwards and forwards along the length of the pier as well.
On the 13th it seemed to be favouring the area around the harbour mouth and the end of the South Pier. Unfortunately the very end of the South Pier is fenced off and inaccessible which can make viewing a bit difficult at times !
On the 14th it was seen around the harbour mouth or inside the harbour on the water along the wall west of the entrance to Waveney Dock.
On the 15th it was seen around the harbour mouth area and in Waveney Dock.
Still present on the 16th, though very mobile again.
