CARING FOR YOUR GUINEA PIGS

  1. Bed on straw, do NOT bed on hay as it is too heating.
  2. Feed Oats, plus a good supply of hay. Fresh water should always be available.
  3. Guinea Pigs cannot make their own vitamin 'C' and need fresh vegetables, oranges or grass.
  4. Do NOT feed wet or frosted food items.
  5. Buttercups, rhubarb and poppies are poisonous.
  6. Do NOT gather food from the roadside.
  7. Guinea Pigs can live outside from late spring until early Autumn, but should be inside in a shed or garage when the weather is cold. Use plenty of bedding.
  8. Handle your guinea as you would a kitten. Be careful NOT to squeeze his tummy.
  9. If you handle him gently he will become very tame.
  10. Guineas are very easy to care for and make amusing and loving pets for
tiny children right through to adults.
