The International Jodel Club was founded in 2005 to take over from the Jodel Club. It is based on the Jodel mailing list set up as a Yahoo group by P.H. Rankin Hansen which has successfully run as an information exchange for some years. By combining the memberships, a single club for those interested in the Jodel was formed. As an internet based organisation it has no officers and takes no subscription from its members who are based throughout the world wherever Jodels are flown.
The aims are:
To provide a forum where to discuss matters relating to Jodel aircraft for operators, pilots, restorers/builders and enthusiasts of the type. To exchange information on the construction of new Jodel aircraft. To exchange information and experiences to ensure the safe operation of Jodel aircraft. To enable members who own aircraft to be informed of events such as fly-ins and other events where Jodel aircraft are invited. To enable those wanting parts and those with parts to sell to communicate and thus keep the worldwide fleet of Jodel aircraft in the air where they belong. To monitor legislation that increasingly puts pressure on the operation of aircraft like Jodels. To provide a link between those interested in the Jodel where ever they might live. To understand the historical background to the type and preserve both the aircraft and other data for the generations to come. Most of all to enjoy these masterpieces of wood and fabric that are the brilliant designs of “Le Chef” Jean Delemontez which originated from his cooperation with Edouard Joly in the immediate post-war period in France.
