All the gang are back again-Gerry, Aggie, Louise, Henry, Polly, Smitty, Sam, Billy (now "Bill"), Violet (now Bill's wife), the redoubtable Phyllis Montague, and a newcomer: Phyllis's songwriter-nephew Monte.

Plain dire circumstances (their theatre is in peril) force them to do yet another show by Phyllis, to win a theatre-saving £10,000 endowment, although they know disaster will probably result; tough enough to act on a sinking ship, let alone sing as the waters rise!
