People who have been homeless or who have lost their home suddenly, usually have no furniture. They may be rehoused, but the house will be empty and folk on a low income or state benefits cannot afford to buy many fixtures and fittings, so they will suffer from a lack of basic furniture, linen, cookware, etc.
