You can park by the unused forest tracks at NH929258 and much of the route is bikeable, except you cannot follow the track through Auchterteang because of 2 vicious dogs. You can bypass the buildings on the W side, but there are bushes in the way (see photos). At the junction of paths at NH906283 where the main path turns NE, make sure you continue NW (I built a small cairn to indicate the way). The flanks of the summit are covered in lichen and very slippy (unique in my experience).
