Trahenna Hill, Penvalla, Broughton Heights
These 3 hills can be done as a round from the large layby on the A701 at NT103391. Make for the marked path N of Clover Law and ascend the ridge marked Hammer Head on the map to Trahenna Hill. Retrace your steps for half a mile to descend the NE ridge heading directly for Penvalla which can be ascended directly. Head N to the col before Ladyurd Hill then NW along the upper reaches of Hopehead Burn to climb directly to Broughton Heights. It is an easy descent back to the car.
