The shortest ascent is from a layby on the A702 SE of the hill. I parked opposite the Tarmac compound at the Garvald turnoff at NT101483 and followed a track NE to the plantation edge at NT112493. Ascending to the fence it can be followed to the base of the hill for a straightforwards ascent.
