Bemsee Minitwins Championship

It was decided within Mario Racing
that a report from an outside point of view was needed for the readers,
so all reports are submitted by Richie.
Well it was the first race meeting
for the season, we knew it was going to be tough, as the bike was new,
no time to test the new suspension, also weather was unpredictable and
commitments with work.
First race was a disaster as the
bike was running on one cylinder, we found the problem and got out for
the second race, that was better, but Mario was complaining that the
bike was shaking going into corners, so during the night a few ideas and
settings changed ready for net day, slight improvement but found the
front suspension had run out of adjustment, so had to make do for the
reminder of the day, last race great start, but halfway through bike
getting worst which caused a disappointing finish for the weekend.
Solution is to take the bike back
and get more adjustment on the front suspension, if we had more time
then all the testing would have been done prior to a race meeting.

commitments Cadwell has to be missed.

Snetterton 1 - 2 May 04
We both agreed Snetterton was the place to gauge the bike
after having the suspension re done.
Started on the back of the grid on Saturday, and the bike
and rider were transformed, Mario came charging in from 40th to finish
29th.
Mario was excited and very confident with the bike, the
starts and the way he moved on through the traffic was superb, came
second race of the day and again another fantastic race and came in
24th, great position to start Sunday.
Due to large numbers Mario was a reserve all weekend, but
got away with it on Saturday unfortunately he was not able to compete in
the Minitwins so a overflow was created in the Supertwins (1000cc) he
did great considering Snetterton is a power circuit he finished 4th from
last which was great as he beat other Supertwins and beat his time from
the previous day.
The second race he got a great start but was overtaken
down the straights, Mario was great round the corners very fast and
overtaking but when on the straights due to their power advantage they
got away, this carried on for the remider of the race.
Looking at Mario's time he achieved a 1min 22sec which
compare with the Minitwins puts him around 15th, which is fantastic, we
know Mario will do well at Lydden as this track he loves.

Lydden Hill 15 & 16 May

Well what a strange
weekend that was for Mario.
Mario was buzzing
and geared up to do well, especially the fact that BEMSEE had overcome
the overcrowding by creating another round which now is named the
Minitwin cup, this will have its own trophies for 1st to 3rd
and points allocation.
Mario was ready for
his practise and going into Paddock bend he over cooked and crashed on
practise, on his return he was ok, but the bike needed some work on it
which meant that he missed the first race, on discussion with Mario I
asked what made him crash, he stated ‘ I thought that I did not need to
brake into the corner, hence the reason for the crash’. Well that’s
great that Mario is pushing but that meant for the 2nd race
he was starting from the back.
Again a great start,
the race was great he managed to get to 15th on the grid,
which was fantastic from the back, I knew he would get a good start, so
get him prepared for Sunday.
He had a great start
and by the time he got to north bend he was diving under to take 1st,
but unfortunately he was pushing hard and his front tucked under and
again that was it for the that race, luckily for us the bike was ok,
apart from the foot peg which we changed and ready for the final race.
We both agreed it
would be best for us to get a good finish and come away without anymore
injuries, so from the back again a great start, some good scraps and
finished 14th which on the whole was a respectable finish to
the weekend despite all the incidents.
On a positive
note it shows to us that Mario is a fighter and will not let get
anything down so he comes fighting back, which for the team is what we
need and some good old-fashioned good luck as well.

Well for the first
time ever for Mario and the team we are at the famous Brands GP circuit,
everyone seems to be buzzing around the circuit, must be the glory of
being out on the full circuit
