What is HypnoBirthing®?

As with any practitioner discipline it is important to find a fully qualified practitioner whose training and experience you can trust.  You can find a list of all registered HypnoBirthing® practitioners on the official UK website or by contacting the Institute direct.  These HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educators (HBCE) have undergone the necessary training based on the HypnoBirthing® Institute’s own high standards, adhere to their practitioners’ standards and code of ethics and are required to complete an annual programme of continuing professional development.

Leisa Mark (HBCE) is a qualified nurse and has worked for over 10 years in the NHS, mainly in Intensive Care, with interests in education and developing guidelines for best practice.

‘I was inspired to become a practitioner after having my daughter Emily, now three years old, who was a HypnoBirthing® baby.  Emily was birthed at home weighing 8lb 13½oz without the need for analgesia.  The birth was everything my husband and I hoped for: it was calm and peaceful and all I felt was pressure!  Through using HypnoBirthing® I knew that I wanted to become a practitioner to help other mums realise that they could have such a positive experience like mine… It really works!’
