Christening Robe 12

Bodice 'V' cut off by skirt junction. Very fine indeed with tiny spider's web fillings, laddering and drawn thread work fillings. The design successfully complements the shape of the bodice panel. Daisy wheels in outer band diminish in scale separated by rows of leaves and eyelets.
Wings: plain with edge of small scallop and single eyelet.
Sleeves: unusually flat frill V-shaped into the shoulder separating two bands of embroidery divided by long row of eyelets and cording.
Frill edge: simple back frill. Neck edge scalloped and worn.
Skirt has machine made net lace insertions, perhaps done ca 1900 when this became fashionable.
