Christening Robe 17

ca 1860-70 Bodice panel: lost its 'V'. (Possibly not original companion to skirt)
Design made up of tiny components - seeding, laddering and eyelets. Bodice shape and edge defined by rows of eyelets and oversewn line/stem/vine.
Wings: plain with tiny scallop and eyelet edge. Sleeves: not a good cap sleeve - has been changed and lengthened and frilled.
Skirt panel: lower part of triangle of ten similar motifs - each has two drawn thread fillings - all fairly similar. Each side of the skirt panel from waist to hem is embroidered with border of sprigs and sprays with a variety of drawn thread fillings. (Possibly by different person).
Wings: smaller repeat of 1" motif , a filled flower with sprigs again from waist to hem. This continues around the skirt hem.
