Christening Robe 4

Unknown provenance. From jumble sale 1970s.
Bodice: Embroidered panel applied to ready-made bodice. "Possibly because eyelets are so large that baby's underwear would have shown through". Medallion with flowers. Lace added around collar. Large eyelets no fillings. Wings pointed scallop with large coarse eyelets.
Sleeves - cap with one frill and decorated with some sprigs and eyelets. Well stroked tucks at waist.
Skirt panel: trailing starts quite low down. Medallion a central feature with ferny leaves and surrounded by large eyelets. Some wear in cloth. Open, large and not finely designed. Seems to be a mixture of standards of work. Wings are quite crudely applied.
